American Thoracic Society 2010 International Conference

The 2010 International Conference of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) was held in New Orleans, LA, May 14-19, with an international attendance of over 15,000 persons. This annual meeting of respiratory health researchers and clinicians took on additional significance since 2010 has been designated the “Year of the Lung” by hundreds of international organizations focusing on the importance of lung health and lung disease.

The American Thoracic Society’s (ATS) Annual International Conference featured a special update session on the Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic. Ironically, several thousand of the anticipated 15,000-16,000 attendees cancelled travel plans to attend the conference because of their governments’ recommendations against travel to the United States. Meeting: Toronto, Canada, May 16-21, 2008

The American Thoracic Society (ATS) held its annual meeting in Toronto, Canada, hosting over 16,000 physicians, scientists, and other respiratory healthcare providers from all over the world. There were no major or landmark studies presented at this meeting, but it was a very interesting update on research and clinical advances in respiratory diseases. Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology Annual Conference

The Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology Council is one of the clinical and research sections within the American Heart Association and, as the name suggests, is focused on the research and clinical developments in vascular health.
