Annals of Long Term Care

Annals of Long-Term Care: Clinical Care and Aging (ALTC) is a peer-reviewed, medical journal that addresses the clinical care and practical issues that affect the treatment of long-term care residents. The aim is to disseminate timely information that can be readily put into practice to improve the care of this growing population.

Founded in 1992, ALTC reaches almost 50,000 medical directors, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals monthly. ALTC is an official publication of the American Geriatrics Society and also has a partnership with the American Association for Long Term Care Nursing.

Content consists of evidence-based clinical review articles, case reports, clinical experience reports, ethics articles, perspectives, and various other departments prepared by healthcare providers and key opinion leaders serving long-term care. Articles in the publication cover a wide range of topics from numerous specialties, including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, musculoskeletal disease, nephrology, neurology, oncology, pain management, psychiatry, pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, and urology, among others.

ALTC is indexed in EMBASE/Excerpta Medica and in the Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL).
