Having spent years in several management positions, the challenges are only increasing. Geriatricians are finally poised to be in the absolutely right position to benefit. Payors, medicare and the like are not paying hospitals for SREs (serious reportable events). So, geriatric health care is now important economically for hospitals, health plans, etc.

One tidbit from a recent incident in a hospital in our region was a pt fall resulting in an injury from one of those new Snuggies. If you've seen people attempting to walk with them...they are dangerous. So, all hospitals, nursing faciliti
